Audubon Center
Greenwich Audubon Center stewards seven sanctuaries and private parcels (totaling 686 acres) in Greenwich, including the Main Sanctuary (and Audubon Center). The Greenwich Audubon Center opened in 1943 and has been welcoming visitors and serving as a leader in place-based nature education ever since. The Main Sanctuary features the Hardwood forests, open fields, a lake, streams, and vernal pools, as well as remnants of early homestead settlement. The center and staff coordinate Audubon’s Bird-Friendly Communities work in Connecticut.
